German tech site PC Games Hardware reports NVIDIA isn't expecting lower video card prices until the third quarter of this year. The news was made public by Brian Hutchins, the community manager at the US technology marketplace Massdrop.com.

Prices of video cards are extremely high and many gamers are blaming cryptocurrency miners for this whole mess. There are little or no cards to be found in the retail channel, unless you're willing to pay sky-high prices.

NVIDIA reportedly told Massdrop that no relief is in sight until Q3 2018 as cryptocurrency mining demand is expected to remain high. Additionally, a shortage of memory is also impacting the prices of video cards.
