    ATI cuts Radeon X1800 pricing

Posted on Thursday, April 27 2006 @ 00:11:27 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

ATI decided to cut the price of its R520:
Fudo reported an excellent deal here. The product in question was an X1800XT featuring only 256MB of GDDR-3 memory, while a fully-fledged X1800XT comes with 512MB of ultra-fast memory - just what Oblivion needs for a good performance. New price of the Sapphire X1800XT 512MB ViVo Lite-Retail model is 269 euros, and is available at Captain Hook's favourite German on-line store.

A second product suffering a price-cut is the X1800GTO, also known as "the X1800XL after pipeline-cutting BIOS mod" or "castrated X1800XL which can get its balls back". Pardon my French, these two are direct quotes from several forums I visit. The new price of the product is mere 199 euros, and is targeted to go up against Nvidia's 7600GT.
