    One Mode is Not Enough

    One addition that would greatly increase the usability of a cell phone is Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is a common and inexpensive technology that allows for high transfer rates, though normally over a limited range. 802.11 wireless radio is something most commonly associated with notebook computers, but it can just as easily be transferred to PCs, PDAs, and other devices. What today's phones need is to be able to take advantage of existing wireless networks.
