Samsung starts AM OLED volume production in Q1 2007

Posted on Monday, October 30 2006 @ 09:57:18 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Samsung will commence volume production of its new 2 and 2.6-inch AM OLED displays in the first quarter of next year:
The company revealed during its recent investors conference that it is now developing 2-inch class QVGA AM OLEDs.

The South Korea-based maker saw sales of its passive-matrix (PM) OLEDs jump 67% sequentially in the third quarter, with shipments of the segment rising from 48 million units in the second quarter to 53 million units in the third quarter, according to a company presentation.
