AMD 4x4 platform motherboards to cost $300

Posted on Monday, November 27 2006 @ 14:11:43 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

The first motherboards for AMD's 4x4 platform are expected to cost about $300, which is roughly 10 percent more expensive than the current high-end NVIDIA nForce 680 motherboards.

The Inq received confirmation Asus will be the first with a 4x4 Quad FX motherboard and they also heard a rumour that two of AMD's FX processors will be priced competitive with Intel's quad-core Kentsfield processors.
