Interview about Xbox 360 HD DVD drive

Posted on Wednesday, January 31 2007 @ 09:17:10 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

HardOCP talks with Shaheen Ghandi, a Xbox Console & Consumer Software team member, about the development of the HD DVD drive for the Xbox 360 console. Here's a snip:
The is no denying that, in the world of next-generation high definition DVD players, the Xbox 360 HD-DVD player is one of the best values around. The HD-DVD player is such a great value, it earned a Best of 2006 award from us earlier this year for “Best Peripheral.” For less than two hundred dollars the Xbox 360 HD-DVD is a phenomenal value, and unlike other consoles, the fact that this is an optional component leaves the choice up to the consumer as to whether or not they want to pay the extra money for a high definition drive.
