ATI RV610 and RV630 arrive in May

Posted on Wednesday, February 28 2007 @ 16:22:51 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

The upcoming entry-level and mid-stream RV610 and RV630 GPUs from ATI are slated to reach retail shelves by late Q2.
It looks like the R600 will now be aligned for a simultaneous launch in May. ATI might decide to launch the R600 even sooner as we don’t think a hardware bug delayed the chip.

The RV630, Radeon X2600 and R610, Radeon X2300 have the same architectural bones as the R600 but these two chips are made in 65 nanometre, not in 80nm like the R600. At this point it doesn't look like that 65 nanometre parts are going to be pushed back.
The NVIDIA G84 and G86 are expected before May.
