ATI working on 9-inch Radeon HD 2900 XL

Posted on Friday, April 27 2007 @ 15:27:14 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

ATI folks are working on a new graphics card called the Radeon HD 2900 XL (R600XL). According to Fudo the card will be 9-inch long and feature a dual-slot cooler.

The R600XL will feature 512MB GDDR3 memory and will need only one PCI Express 2x3 pin power connector. The power consumption of this card will be quit high, but shouldn't exceed 180W.

Few other details are known but this is very likely just a Radeon HD 2900 XT with some lower clockspeeds.
