Last week VIA and Everex launched the new StepNote NC1501 notebook in the U.S. This notebook is available for only $499 and features the VIA C7-M processor for low power consumption. The company says the 1.5GHz CPU only uses a max of 12W.
The notebook has a 15.4" widescreen LCD display, the VIA Chrome9 HC IGP chip for graphics, 512MB 533MHz DDR2 memory, a 60GB HDD, a DVD writer, 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g WiFi support.
The laptop weighs 5.3lbs and has a battery life of up to 4.25 hours with a 6-cell Li-Ion battery.
