    AMD RD790/RX790 launch dates revealed

Posted on Monday, April 30 2007 @ 13:32:56 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Our friends at Chile Hardware got their hands on details regarding the launch date of the AMD RD790/RX790, these are new chipsets for the AMD AM2+ processors.

According to their details both these chipsets will be presented by AMD at Computex in June. The RD790 and RX790 are nearly identical, the only difference is that the first one supports CrossFire while the RX790 only has a single PCI Express.

Both chipsets support the new HyperTransport 3.0 and the new PCI Express 2.0.
