The Inquirer reports that ULi has announced the ULi M1683 Northbridge chipset for Intel his Pentium 4. Remarkable is that this one is not limited to only 800MHz, it also officialy supports an FSB of 1000MHz!
Whilst Intel are unlikely to be happy with this being advertised, we can see hardware enthusiasts feretting out mainboards based upon this chipset and, with its memory controller capable of ‘quad-pumping’ 250MHz, high frequency DDR RAM such as Corsair Micro’s forthcoming XMS4250 modules.
