    News from AMD Analyst Day

    Here's a very short summary about the news for the desktop and notebook markets:
  • AMD's quad-core Phenom - available in Q4 2007
  • 45nm desktop CPUs in 2008, codenamed Ridgeback. Will have 6MB L3 cache, HyperTransport 3.0, AM2+ socket.
  • Leo - a new desktop platform based on AMD Phenom processor, RD790 Northbridge and SB700 Southbridge chipsets, and R670 and R680 graphics cards.
  • Quad-core notebook processors in 2009 (Falcon) - CPU/GPU with integrated, unified shading architecture and DirectX GPU core for enhanced graphics processing.
