Foxconn Quantum Force MARS motherboard unveiled

Posted on Friday, August 31 2007 @ 00:01:15 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Foxconn unveiled the Mars motherboard in their Quantum Force motherboard lineup, which is a new high-performance lineup designed for overclockers and gamers. The MARS motherboard is based on the Intel P35 chipset and will be available in September.

    Features:
  • Supports all the latest Intel processors, including the upcoming 45nm ones
  • Intel P35 + ICH9R chipsets
  • FSB 1333/1066/800 MHz.
  • 1066/800/667MHz DDR2 memory support, max 8GB
  • PCI Express x16, PCI Express x4, CrossFire support, two PCI Express x1, three PCI slots
  • 6x Serial ATA II ports, 1x eSATA, 2x IEEE1394a, 12x USB 2.0 ports, 1x ATA
  • RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 10
  • 7.1 channel HD audio
  • Gigabit LAN
  • BIOS with many overclocking options
  • Onboard on/off & CMOS reset buttons
  • AGEIS overclocking panel
  • Cool Pipie heatpipe solution
  • Solid caps

  • According to Foxconn the motherboard reaches FSB frequencies of 575MHz with standard air cooling in their test lab.
“The Foxconn board made it to No.8 [in the 3DMark05 Hall of Fame], even I didn’t have time for LN2 [liquid nitrogen] cooling and the P35 chipset doesn’t support Dual x8 or x16 bandwidth on CrossFire. So, for those handicaps the score and results with this board are stunning!” according to leading ‘OCer’ mICKEYmOUSE.
