Sales figures indicate Super Mario Galaxy is the fastest selling game for the Nintendo Wii console. Nintendo reports the game has been sold more than 500,000 times in its first week.
Nintendo also noted that these numbers give Galaxy the distinction of having the highest first-week sales of any Mario game. This is good news for Nintendo, as it had seriously banked on the title as its big holiday title. Super Smash Bros Brawl, once also a hotly anticipated Christmas game, was pushed back to 2008 earlier this month.
Not bad but Halo 3's three million sales in its first week are far more impressive.
