Amazon sells up to 17 Wii consoles per second

Posted on Monday, December 31 2007 @ 01:25:23 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Amazon announced it has sold more than 5.4 million items during the holiday season.

One of the more popular items was the Nintendo Wii, Amazon sold as many as 17 Wii consoles per second when they were in stock. The most popular games were Call of Duty 4 and Super Mario Galaxy.

Amazon says it sold enough HD DVD and Blu-ray players to cover seven football fields and enough GPS systems to make a trail from New York to Philadelphia if you would line up all of the devices.

The best selling GPS navigation systems were those from Garmin, Samsung LCD TVs were very popular too and Canon's Digital Elph (Ixus) outsold all other digital cameras.
