Todays rumours about PCI Express/AGP, Grantsdale, Alderwood and Socket 939

Posted on Friday, February 20 2004 @ 19:59:54 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

According to [H]ardOCP VIA's chipset with both PCI Express and AGP is still not working like it should. From the same source they heard that Intel wanted to make a PCI Express/AGP chipset but gave up because it was giving inferior performance compared to other chipsets.

Another rumour is that Grantsdale and Alderwood boards will be shipped in April, with bigger supplies in May and June in both Socket 478 and Socket 775 variants.

Last rumour is that Socket 939 processors from AMD are heading out this week to motherboard builders.
