Gigabyte Volar design is highly original especially against the background of other solutions available in the market today. First of all we should point out the unusual positioning of the cooler heatsink that sits on heatpipes at 45-desgree angle to the cooler base:Unfortunately the cooler didn't perform that well, the tests results show this cooler can't beat the Intel stock cooler in the performance tests. The Volar produces a bit less noise than the stock cooler but overall it's not recommended as there are much better coolers on the market.
In other words, the aluminum heatsink is sort of hanging over the cooler base and heatpipes coming out of it.
