Intel to release Xscale Bulverde chips real soon

Posted on Friday, April 09 2004 @ 20:41:22 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

According to The Inq the Xscale Bulverde chip from Intel will be launch soon, maybe as soon as next week. The Xscale Bulverde is aimed at handhelds and mobile phones. It's part of the Personal Internet Client Architecture (PICA) and it will probably include Wireless Speedstep, to reduce power consumption.
Intel claimed at a conference last year that such technology will allow faster transmission of pictures and videos on PDAs and on mobile phones. There's likely to be a jump in processor frequencies for Bulverde, although this doesn't matter quite as much to Intel as it used to.
