Posted on Monday, April 12 2004 @ 20:23:12 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

ULI has delivered world's first PCI Express South Bridge, the M1573. It's ULI's latest high performance south brigde integrated with extensive features for both mobile and desktop PCs.

ULI says that their M1573 south bridge interfaces to the north bridge trough a PCI Express link offering scalability and low latency that typify the requirement of multimedia applications today. The M1573 includes 8 USB2.0/1.1 ports, 4 SATA (AHCI) ports, Azalia audio and RAID 0, 1 and 0+1. According to ULI it is designed with power effiency in mind.
When combined with ATI's latest PCI Express graphics integrated north bridges, the solutions represent premier chipset choice for next generation interconnect solutions for OEM/ODM. ULi has been the sole supplier that provides a comprehensive line of powerful south bridges for the AMD, ATI, Intel™, and Transmeta CPU platforms.

When combined with ATI's next generation graphics integrated north bridges, M1573 enables the best performance leading and cost efficient PCI Express solutions for Intel's Pentium® M and Pentium® 4, and AMD Athlon™ 64 platforms. The solutions, consequently, allow global OEM/ODM to deliver quality products at various price points.

"Last year the collaboration between ULi and ATI resulted in a 30% worldwide market share in the mobile PCs utilizing ULi's M1535+ south bridge and ATI's Radeon™ 9100 IGP," said Alex Kuo president of ULi Electronics, Inc. "Following our past success, this phenomenal M1573 and ATI next generation graphics integrated north bridge break both new grounds and present an exceptional value to the end users of both desktop and mobile PCs."
