Corsair Flash Voyager GT 16GB flash drive unveiled

Posted on Friday, February 29 2008 @ 03:25:10 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Corsair has unveiled a new 16GB Flash Voyager GT drive. The press release claims this drive is up to four times faster than standard USB 2.0 drives but doesn't mention speeds in MB/s.

According to Corsair it will take about 98 seconds to transfer a 1.63GB movie to the Flash Voyager GT drive, which equals a speed of roughly 17MB/s. That doesn't really seems to be that fast as some of the fastest drives I've reviewed on DV Hardware had write speeds of over 22MB/s.

Features: * Maximum durability – proprietary all-rubber housing
    * Drive integrity – water resistant and shock resistant
    * Data security – TrueCrypt encryption software offering AES 256-bit encryption
    * User warranty – 10 years with on-demand customer support

The Flash Voyager 16GB GT will be available for $169.99.
