ATI R420 launchdate is not the 26th of April

Posted on Monday, April 26 2004 @ 19:25:01 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Digitalwanderer from Elite Bastars was a little bit "upset" that their still wasn't any new information regarding the R420. Today was according to several rumours that date on which the Radeon X800 would be launched. He decided to e-mail ATI. Here is the response Patricia Mikula from ATI:

I don't know where this 26th date came from (to be honest it was never the 26th). So, you won't hear anything from anyone under NDA today. But, I don't want you to suffer unnecessarily, so here are a few details to tide you over.
    1) The board is red
    2) There will be an X in the name (maybe even 2)
    3) You won't be disappointed in the performance
    4) You will still be able to run it in your shuttle
    5) It won't consume as much power the space shuttle (or a competitor's card for that matter)
    6) Did I mention that the board is red?

Hope that keeps you sane for the next little while. Have patience my friend - it will be worth the wait

    Patti
Oh cool so the board is red, and we have once again evidence that not all rumours are true
