NVIDIA working on MCP79 for VIA Isaiah processors

Posted on Friday, March 28 2008 @ 02:10:45 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

According to VR Zone there will be a variant of NVIDIA's MCP79 chipset for VIA's C7 and Isaiah CN CPUs. Currently this chipset only supports Intel chipsets but according to the site only some modifications are needed to support VIA processors.
The Inquirer first broke the news on Nvidia making chipsets for VIA processors and Infoworld followed up with a story that teaming up with Nvidia gives VIA access to cutting-edge graphics.

Despite the deal with Nvidia, VIA will continue to produce its own chipsets for its microprocessors.
Lets hope they manage to keep the power consumption of this chipset under control.
