    MSI unwinds Wind notebook details

Posted on Monday, April 21 2008 @ 15:06:41 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

MSI has unraveled some details about its upcoming Wind notebook series that will compete with low-cost PCs like the Asus Eee PC.

The firm says the Wind notebook will be available with 8.9" and 10" widescreen LCD displays with LED-backlights and a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The MSI Wind notebook weighs about 1 kilogram and unlike the Eee PC it doesn't have a small SSD drive but a 2.5" 80GB HDD so you don't have to worry about storage capacity.

MSI says the notebook features an ergonomic keyboard with "great texture" and 17.5mm space between the keys to make it just as good as larger notebooks. The operating system is Windows XP and the notebook also features a 1.3 megapixel webcam and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity.

MSI didn't provide a MSRP yet but according to some sources the base model will be available starting from 299EUR.
