Taiwanese monthly DDR2 capacity reaches 8.64 million units

Posted on Monday, June 07 2004 @ 16:42:03 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

The monthly DDR2 memory chip capacity of Taiwanese manufacturers has reached 8.64 million units.
Although current ramps at the DDR2 fabs can provide sufficient supply, Taiwan-based memory testing companies have been conservative in buying DDR2 chips, as the product has yet to hit the mainstream market. Should ramps at DDR2 memory chip fabs pick up in the fourth quarter of this year, sources doubt whether testing capacity can keep up.
