Industry sources claim Asus is considering to spin off the Eee brand. This new independent brand would then feature a complete lineup that includes the original Eee PC notebook, as well as the Eee TV (E-TV), Eee desktop (E-DT) and Eee monitor. Most of these products are expected in Q3 2008.
Through separating Eee as a sub-brand, Asustek believes the product family will be able to jump out of the low-cost market bracket.
Market sources also claim that Asus is preparing a Eee PC 1001 with 10" display as well as an 11" model by the end of this year.
