    AMD 45nm Phenom FX in Q1 2009?

Posted on Friday, May 30 2008 @ 01:30:19 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

FUD Zilla believes the 45nm Deneb FX may give AMD a chance to get back into the high-end CPU market in Q1 2009. The site claims these 45nm chips should easily reach clockspeeds of at least 3GHz.
At that time Intel should be happily selling its Quad core Nehalem, the CPU that supports eight threads and might still end up faster than AMD’s FX offering, but at least AMD can get close to Intel’s performance crown.

The CPU has 6MB of L3 cache and it should be completely unlocked and overclocking friendly, since that is what FX usually stands for. AMD might brand this one as the Black edition as it looks that this new brand worked quite well for AMD.
