ECS presents laptop with built-in 1.3 megapixel camera

Posted on Tuesday, July 27 2004 @ 17:17:52 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

ECS has presented a new notebook featuring a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera. The ECS G220 is according to ECS the first notebook ever built with a 1.3 megapixel camera. The company says that the camera can take high resolution images ideal for a number of applications.

This new feature also serves as a webcam.

These laptops are Intel Centrino based and come with either Banias (130nm) or Dothan (90nm, 2MB cache) Pentium M processors.
Customers are able to buy G220 models that suit them, says ECS, and can be powered by a variety of processor speeds, between 1.5GHz and 2.13GHz. It's got a 12.1-inch LCD monitor, which can deliver a 1280 x 800 resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio. It's light, too – weighing in at under 2kg and with a supposedly "slim, sleek" design, ECS is targeting, in its own words, "fashion-conscious consumers".
