NVIDIA to launch NV43 at QuakeCon

Posted on Friday, August 06 2004 @ 18:00:28 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

At the upcoming QuakeCon gaming fest NVIDIA will launch its NV43, and then will follow with announcements at the game convention in Leipzig, Germany.
Last night Jen Hsun Huang, Nvidia's CEO, confirmed this c and he also confirmed that the chip is built with 110 nanometer marchitecture and will support Shader Model 3.0.

We already described most of the details about NV43 here.

He also added that the chips and cards will be available immediately upon announcement. Yeah right, but I would suggest that you would be extremely lucky if you get one anytime before September. We'll see. Medion wants approximately 200 000+ pieces of NV43 and I guess it will eat most of the chips that would otherwise go to retail.

Quakecon starts on the 12th of August and lasts until the 15th so that is the time you will see the official info about it. It's Geforce 6x00 technology but we are not sure about x for the unknown number, yet
