FUD Zilla reports Intel will ship its first quad-core notebook CPUs on August 17th. They won't be cheap though:
The top one is called Core 2 Extreme QX9300 and this 2.53GHz clocked quad core will cost a saucy $1.038 at launch. This mobile CPU has 12MB of cache and it’s nothing more than Yorkfield with a bit more modest TDP.

Don’t expect it to be mild as this FSB 1066MHz will dissipate at least 45W if not even more. This CPU will find its place in super expensive high end 17-inch and maybe some high end 15.4-inch machines that we call the desktop replacement.

The second quad core to launch on the August 17th, the day before the IDF starts is Core 2 Quad Q9100 and this 12MB cache CPU works at 2.26GHz and costs $851 at launch.
