    Doom 3 contains Nigerian Spam!

Posted on Friday, August 13 2004 @ 15:54:31 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Hehe the creators of Doom 3, id Software, seem to have put a lot of fun stuff in Doom 3. For instance the Super Turkey Punch 3 game and the id Software PDA which contains thanks messages from the team that created Doom III..

Now it also seems that those nasty Nigerian scammers are still alive in the year 2145 At least in the Doom 3 game. Somewhere at the beginning of the Alpha Labs Sector 4 you can find the PDA from a scientist which contains a parodic version of the 419 Nigerian scam.
Thanks to all those readers who have emailed to confirm that said PDA contains a letter from one "DR. John Okonkwo" outlining a tempting get-rich-quick scheme. Cheers too to those gamers who note that another PDA has a piece of "pharmaceutical" spam on it. Expect stiff opposition when you eventually come across it.
