Asus to launch entry-level to middle-level X-series graphics cards

Posted on Tuesday, August 24 2004 @ 11:01:30 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Asus is planning to introduce a new graphics card line-up for entry- to middle-level segments, named X-series, aiming to boost their market share in this segment.
The company shipped 3.65 million graphics cards in the first seven months of this year, up 25% on the same period last year. With the introduction of the X-series graphics cards, Asustek aims to increase sales of its graphics cards to 8-10 million units by year-end, up from 6.25 million units in 2003, the sources noted.

Asustek launched its X-series value motherboards in 2003, and these have since helped the company increase its market share in the channel.
