Intel readies price cuts on notebook chips

Posted on Wednesday, September 15 2004 @ 22:23:53 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

CHIP GIANT Intel will encourage the introduction of its "Dothan" Pentium M processors into notebooks by cutting prices in mid-October and introducing a 2.10GHz (765) CPU then, it has emerged. Those price cuts will be followed early next year by the introduction of a 2.13GHz (770) Dothan using a 533MHz front side bus, accompanied by other notebook CPUs to supersede the 400MHz bus the chips currently use.
