Radeon X700XT specification changes to 475MHz/1050 MHz

Posted on Saturday, September 18 2004 @ 01:35:26 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

ATI DECIDED TO change its frequencies at pretty much the last moment leaving us and its partners amazed. The good thing is that the performance numbers of 8000 3Dmarks will remain on target.

We believe that yields were not that good to get these chips running at 500 MHz, but there is a possible scenario that the chip itself will benefit from a higher memory clock due to its higher bandwidth.

Whatever happens, you will end up with a card that should be either tighter or faster than Nvidia's flagship 6600GT.

The launch date remains the 21st of September.
