Firefox downloaded more than 1 million times in less than 100 hours!

Posted on Monday, September 20 2004 @ 00:21:32 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

The "Spread Firefox"-campaign is pretty successful: in less than 100 hours time the new version of this browser was download more than 1 million times! And there are still 6 days to go, the motto was "1,000,000 Downloads. 10 Days".
This is the fastest adoption rate we have ever experienced, higher than every previous Firefox release. But it's not time to relax our efforts. How soon can we break through 2 million? We'll have more information on a new campaign on Monday.

In the mean time, let us—and the world— know what you think of Firefox Preview Release. Drop us a review at c|net, BetaNews (win mac linux) or ZDNet. We'll incorporate the feedback as we drive to 1.0.

This month about 14.5% of DV Hardware's visitors used Firefox, 6.2% used Mozilla and 4.2% used Opera. But the big one is still IE with a share of 70.5%
