As you may already know, all Area-51 systems are fully customizable and can, of course, be configured to cost much more than US$1,049. At this price you get an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 clocked at 3.0GHz, a 750W PSU, a single Nvidia 9800GT with 512MB of memory and 2GB of DDR2 800MHz memory, all fitted into an Alienware approved Nvidia Nforce 750i SLI motherboard.
Other specs include a 250GB SATA hard drive, a 20x dual-layer DVD burner and a standard keyboard and mouse. As with every other Area-51 this one can be configured with 3GHz quad-core Core 2 Extreme CPU, a 1,200W PSU, two HD 4870 X2 cards, 3TB of hard drive space, and up to 8GB of memory.
Alienware's new desktop PC starts at $1,049
