    AMD to ship 800,000 K8 processors in Q3, and 1.5 - 3 million in Q4

Posted on Monday, September 20 2004 @ 12:30:28 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Shipments of AMD Athlon 64 processors to OEM clients and the channel are better than expected. The company now expects to ship a total of 600,000 processors in Q3 of this year.

If the rise of demand stays steady then AMD is estimated to ship 1.5 - 2 million K8 processors in the fourth quarter of this year.

Shipments of their Sempron processors will also be good in Q3, but not as good as the Athlon 64 CPUs.
