Posted on Wednesday, November 26 2008 @ 16:01:30 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Lenovo introduced the IdeaPad S9e and IdeaPad S10e netbooks, these systems feature the Intel Atom, up to 1.5GB of memory, Ethernet, WiFi, optional Bluetooth, ExpressCard 34 slot and optional mobile broadband. The S9e has a 8.9" LED-backlit LCD display while the S10e has a 10.1-inch LED-backlit LCD display, users can choose between various operating systems, including Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro or Novell SDLED 10 Linux. The weight of these systems starts under 1.2kg and they will be available for "an affordable price" at the end of November.

One of the special features of the IdeaPad netbooks is their Instant On operating system which enables you to quickly access the Internet:
The Lenovo IdeaPad S9e and S10e netbooks are designed as lightweight mobile PCs for customers in all segments. Additionally, the Lenovo netbooks provide basic functionality for Word processing and light multimedia capabilities. For a faster PC experience, they include the Instant On feature. This allows users to quickly check email, browse the Internet, conduct video conferencing, view photos or listen to music without having to fully boot the operating system. A built-in webcam makes creating and sharing video messaging simple.
