GTA IV to have 32-player multiplayer on PC

Posted on Saturday, November 29 2008 @ 00:23:27 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Rockstar Games unveiled the PC version of GTA IV will have an expanded multiplayer mode compared to the console version, some modes will support up to 32 players at once:
Grand Theft auto IV for the PC will have a bevy of extra enhancements over the original console version though, including enhanced graphics, traffic density options, improved draw distance and a new replay editor that will allow players to upload video clips to the Rockstar Social Club website.

The multiplayer will also be expanded too according to Rockstar, who today revealed that the Deathmatch, GTA Race and Free modes will now support up to 32 players at once - much more than the console version. The other modes in the game are still limited to 16-player matches.

Be warned though that Grand Theft Auto IV for PC is being released exclusively under the Games for Windows brand, so the multiplayer will likely be tied to Microsoft's PC version of Xbox Live. That isn't inherently bad, but it may put off a few fans.
