    Dreamhack Winter 2008 coverage

Posted on Tuesday, December 02 2008 @ 05:31:14 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

RBMods published their thoughts of Dreamhack, the worlds biggest LAN party with almost 10,000 computers connected to each other. See pictures all the way from odd computers to new hardware on the market. Here's a snip:
I still remember my first LAN parties about 15 years ago with IPX protocolls, BNC cables that from one moment to the other would not work and games like C&C and Quake. There was something special about those LAN parties, there used to be about 5 or 6 of us sharing a slow DSL connection of 512KB. Since one of our buddies was the only one at the moment with a "faster" connection it was something very special to be able to download something without waiting hours. Sharing files and pictures was something special also that I will never forget. When fragging someone in Quake gave a real kick or running over someones base in C&C just gave you a huge self confidence boost.
    Check it out over here.
