Microsoft gives official stance on next gen DirectX

Posted on Wednesday, September 29 2004 @ 22:15:09 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

After our WGF story that we wrote a few days back, here, Microsoft decided to react to the article. It didn’t want to comment on future naming of DirectX even though we know it will be called WGF (Windows Graphics Foundation) but told us some other specifics.

It said to us that we should be clear that we are talking about a specification and not a real software thing. It was kind enough to remind us that Microsoft is currently "far from software being released" and as we said many times before we wont see this API before end of 2006.
