Intel Atom N280 to have 667MHz FSB

Posted on Monday, January 12 2009 @ 21:10:55 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

FUD Zilla's keen eyes spotted ASUS was showing off a 1004DN Eee PC system with the Intel Atom N280 processor at CES 2009:
During CES, Asus was showing off a new Eee PC which goes under the model name of 1004DN. The Eee PC 1004DN is interesting in itself if for no other reason that it being the first Eee PC to feature a built in optical drive, but as it turns out, this isn't the most exciting feature about it.

What makes the 1004DN eve more interesting is the fact that Asus has gone and leaked the model names of the next generation mobile Atom processor and the new chipset model name. As we've already reported, Intel is none to keen on making a dual core mobile Atom processor and the 1004DN is as such featuring the Atom N280. Although no actual clock speeds have been given away, reports are suggesting that this part will operate on a 667MHz bus, rather than the current 533MHz for the Atom N270.
