AMD Phenom II phase change overclocking

Posted on Tuesday, January 20 2009 @ 07:03:10 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Icrontic is proud to share their Phenom II phase change overclocking adventure with you today. They hooked their Phenom II up to a Vapochill LS for some -30°C testing and pushed it up to a stable 24/7-friendly 4.2 GHz; that's 420 MHz faster than their highest air-cooled overclock!
"Chips like the Phenom II keep clocking if they can be kept cold enough and fed enough Vcore. We said it before and we'll say it again: AMD got 45nm right the first time, and the Phenom II is a great overclocker. In comparison to some of the first Phenom processors, the Phenom II is simply a monster overclocker!"
You can check it out over here.
