    AMD ditched 22W Athlon X2

Posted on Saturday, January 31 2009 @ 04:00:57 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

FUD Zilla discovered AMD has silently removed the 1.8GHz Lima-based Athlon X2 with a 22W TDP from its roadmap.
Athlon X2 3250e is dead before it was even born and AMD offers some 45W TDP CPUs that you can buy from companies such as HP here.

We will try to find why AMD decided to skip this market as such a CPU was better performing than Atom and it had some reasonable TDPs but Neo re-branding might be the real reason as Neo has just a CPU like that, just slightly de-clocked to 1.6GHz to meet the 15W power needs.
