Founder of Icrontic, Keith “Mortin” Whitsitt, taken off life support

Posted on Monday, October 25 2004 @ 17:49:30 CEST by Thomas De Maesschalck

Here is a terrible piece of news regarding the founder of Icrontic, one of the many fellow hardware websites on th eweb:

The founder of Icrontic.com, formerly APUs Hardware, lies in a Gainesville, FL hospital. At last report Keith "Mortin" Whitsitt is in a coma suffering massive brain damage resulting from a gunshot wound. The family has taken their son off life support and arrangements have been made. Memorial services have been planned for Wednesday October 27, 2004.

Keith Whitsitt started Icrontic.com during high school and it soon grew to be one of the web’s premier PC enthusiast sites. Keith is well renowned for his XBOX hacking articles and outrageous “ghetto” hardware stunts.

Icrontic.com fell victim to a hacker attack in 2003 and soon after Keith sold the site but continued to give to the PC community he loved so much in the form of financial and hardware donations to the Short-Media-Icrontic folding at home team.

Keith “Mortin” Whitsitt made people laugh. He made them think. He made them mad. Most of all he gave so many of us a digital home.

We have a place in our forums where those who knew Mortin can stop by and have a read or leave a memory or start one of your own.
