MSI Wind U123 netbook to debut in April

Posted on Monday, March 02 2009 @ 02:25:06 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

MSI told LaptopMag that they're going to release the Wind U123 in April, this netbook will feature the Intel Atom N280 processor and will be upgradeable to 2GB of memory. The Wind U123 netbook will ship in four colors; white, metallic black, blue, and burgundy read. Users can also chose between a six cell and a nine cell battery pack.
MSI also plans on releasing its MSI Wind U115 (see our mini-review from CES) in late March which packs both a hard drive and an SLC solid state drive. The Intel Atom Z530 powered netbook will priced at over $500.

Andy Tung, MSI’s Director of U.S. Sales, realizes the competition in the 10-inch netbook space isn’t what it used to be with Dell, HP, and Acer pushing the same form factors at competitive price points. “Everyone is playing in the 10-inch game and now the most important factors are brand, features, and design. We are going to fine tune the price, performance, and design. This is our foundation and we are going to do our best to maintain and increase market share,” says Tung.
