Galaxy working on custom GeForce GTX 285 2GB

Posted on Wednesday, March 11 2009 @ 17:19:16 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Galaxy is working on a custom-design GeForce GTX 285 graphics card with 2GB of GDDR3 memory and a cooling solution from Arctic Cooling with five heatpipes and three PWM fans. This card will feature a 648MHz core, 0.8ns GDDR3 memory and 512-bit memory interface. The card will have a digital PWM design instead of 6-phase analog power, and also a dual-BIOS.

There's also a report over at FUD Zilla today that suggests more of these GeForce GTX 285 2GB cards are on the way, the rumor site speculates the 2GB cards will end up on retail shelves for around $399.
