Intel offering big discounts on CULV platform

Posted on Wednesday, March 25 2009 @ 16:26:33 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

Sources at notebook makers told DigiTimes that Intel is aggressively promoting its CULV notebook platform by offering very steep discounts:
The highest volume vendors – HP, Acer and Dell– have been offered CPU unit pricing of US$65, well below the expected list price for low-end models of US$152, while brand vendors including Asustek and MSI have been quoted as low as US$70-75, the sources claimed.

Intel is scheduled to officially launch its CULV lineup on April 19, while the price for mid-range and high-end CULV CPUs will be around US$315-342 for the second quarter.
