Here's a bit more information about that MSI Wind U115 Hybrid 10" netbook that promises a battery life of up to 16 hours. Apparently, the high battery life is achieved with a 6-cell battery and a SSD. WiFi, Bluetooth and webcam were all disabled, speakers muted, and max power savings enabled.

The U115 Hybrid is based on the Intel Menlow US15W platform and features the Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor, 1GB DDR2 memory, 10" LCD display with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, 160GB HDD, 8GB SSD, 4-in-1 memory card slot, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and 1.3MP webcam. The system weighs around 1.3kg and measures 260mm x 180mm x 19-31.5mm.
Hybrid Storage Technology
MSI’s unique Hybrid Storage Technology enables the usage of SSD and HDD simultaneously. It is even possible to deactivate the HDD by a simple shortcut on the keyboard, while continuing working on the SSD of the MSI U115 Hybrid. MSI uses a SLC based Solid State Drive (SSD) which ensures fast boot up and a very responsive Operating System. This results in very power efficient and shockproof computing.

Ultra Long Battery Life
As a result of MSI’s unique Hybrid Storage Technology, the efficient Intel Menlow Platform, the power saving LED backlight, all powered by a 6 cell battery, the MSI U115 has a battery life of 16 hours*. The power-efficient design enables ultra long battery life so the user can continue surfing, blogging, listening to music, watching video and communicating with others.

HD Hardware video decoding
The MSI U115 Hybrid makes use of the Intel® US15W chipset, which relieves the High Definition (HD) decode burden from the processor and makes HD hardware video decoding an easy job. Full hardware acceleration of H.264, MPEG2, VC1 and WMV9 is supported, which again helps to reduce the total power consumption, because software decoding is not needed.

Display features
The MSI U115 Hybrid has a 10” LCD display with 1024 x 600 resolution. Also the LED power-saving backlight technology provides a better display quality together with lower power usage.

Wireless connectivity
Furthermore, the MSI U115 Hybrid has an 802.11 b/g/n wireless and Bluetooth connection, so the user can access the Internet at any time. MSI U115 Hybrid offers a full entertainment interface, which includes a 4 in 1 Card Reader (XD/SD/MMC/Memory Stick) and 3 x USB 2.0, making it easy to upload digital files and connect to external devices.
