A PC at $500 or even $400 sounds affordable, but actually that's still way too expensive - if you're one of the five billion people, and in third world and developing nations, who would consider $1000 a very comfortable yearly income.
But don't worry, giant international corporations, with your best interests at heart, are working to bring PCs to even the humblest desktops.
