64% of home computers infected with spyware

Posted on Tuesday, November 23 2004 @ 23:23:19 CET by Thomas De Maesschalck

We just received a report from Symantec concerning a test with a lot of people from around the world and the infection of spyware and malware. It seems that over 64% of the tested pc's has been infected with some kind of Spyware or malware apps. Malware is a general name for evil software while Spyware mostly installs on a pc as a very important software utility saying it helps out a user while in the meantime it monitors user activity and sends important information to the author of the spyware tool.

Information like credit card data, bankdata, personal data, computer specifications and browsing behavior are part of most spyware tools.
